Simon Van der Stel had NO RIGHT/ NO authority to just ‘grant’ KHOIKHOI lands to German soldier, Laurens Campher.. As a Khoi aboxan or ancestor once said ‘Will any KHOI person ever be allowed to give Dutch lands to Khoi people, so why could foreigners do this on KHOI lands’..

Did Laurens Campher and every single European since 1699 have any right to take Khoikhoi lands for themselves.

Now we also know that enslaved people from Madagascar, Angola but in most rural communities the enslaved were the land and cattle robbed KHOI people, many of our people who will never escape cruel farm life, not in our lifetimes.

Now it looks like they have no sense of the origin of the name Muratie and really why NO other gowas or language speaks to the lands quite like KHOIKHOI.. Because before our people in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franshoek were called Coloureds, we called ourselves COCOQUA KHOI and we had a language.. We did not call the words of Simon van Der Stel and Ryk Tulbagh our mamas gowas or mother tongue.

But also why despite having a whole collection of Khoikhoi language materials and researchers actively studying Khoikhoi at Stellenbosch university, they REFUSED to offer Khoikhoi.

Because in KHOIKHOI ‘MURATIE’ has a meaning. MU- SEE, RA - NOW, TI - MY.. The Khoikhoi language really reminding us even though so many institutions /ari or erase us, who the people were who noticed these lost and afraid Dutch and Germans.
